Types of Fitness Training Offered at AFF

Agility Training
Agility training is for everyone, not just the pro and D1 athletes I train. Agility training helps increase foot speed, balance, power, and maneuverability. As we age, we lose that foot-speed power a hundred times faster than we lose muscle strength. While all of my athletes participate in agility training to help them change direction or accelerate quickly on the field of play, my everyday mom’s and dad’s also have agility training added to their routines due to the simple reason that it’s dangerous to slow down your ability to move fast.
Also, I have weekend warrior athletes who play tennis, softball, basketball and many other activities. The drills don’t take much time, can be fun, and will improve your confidence on and off the field. -
Bodybuilding
The word “bodybuilding” often brings to mind images of massive, muscled Olympians with striated arms, chests, legs, and traps. While that level of muscle development often involves steroids and growth hormones, bodybuilding at its core is simply about shaping your body to meet your personal goals. If you're looking to enhance your glutes, sculpt your chest, or build larger arms, you’re engaging in bodybuilding.

Boxing
Thanks to my martial arts background, I often incorporate basic boxing into training regimens for those who are interested. For D1 and pro athletes, it’s almost always part of the program. Boxing enhances hand quickness, rotational power, balance, coordination, and cardiovascular endurance. Plus, it offers the added benefit of learning self-defense. The beauty of including boxing in your training is that it's incredibly fun, so you often don't realize you're working out and shedding pounds. If you’re looking for an engaging and effective way to improve your fitness, boxing might be the perfect addition to your regimen.

Strength Training
What most people don’t understand about strength training is the huge difference between getting stronger and getting strong. Those are two very different training systems. Most people just want to look and feel better and get stronger. But some people want to get strong. Either is fine and both are legitimate and worthy goals. At Animal Farm Fitness everyone gets stronger. If you want to get strong, we can do that too.

HIIT
High Intensity Interval Training or HIIT is a system of working out where the athlete either performs several exercises or more back to back or with limited rest in a circuit format or does a single exercise like a fan bike at fast then slow intervals. HIIT workouts go from aerobic to anaerobic and are a fantastic method of shedding unwanted fat and building cardiovascular endurance. If it fits with your specific goals, we’ll do a lot of HIIT training. It’s fun and delivers great results.

Mobility/Flexibility Training
It doesn’t help you if you are incredibly strong or if you have the endurance level of a pro-athlete if your body isn’t mobile in a full range of motion on a specific body part or while performing a basic task. Most people have jobs where they sit at a desk for many hours a day and end up with tight backs and very poor posture. This can not only cause chronic pain but also can put us at risk for more serious injury. At Animal Farm Fitness we don’t want to just make you stronger and build endurance, we want you to be able to move in any situation and help keep you pain and injury free.
